Ángela Merayo was born in Ponferrada (Leon), spent her childhood between the Bercian capital and Bembibre, later moved to León to study teaching and worked as a teacher in different schools in the province. Her artistic vocation and her desire to train academically and professionally led her to move to live in Barcelona in 1962, where she resided for forty years, and it was in Catalonia where, it can be said, she was born in artistic world On the occasion of the creation of the Ángela Merayo Foundation, also known as Fundació Merayo, based in Santibáñez de Porma, Ángela Merayo returned to León and has dedicated herself to the promotion and dissemination of art, culture and artists
